2Toms Brewing Company opened its doors in Fort Wayne in July 2018 with a focus on inventive beers for the adventurous spirit. Founded by Tom Carpenter, an at-home brewer before opening 2Toms, he has been met with awesome success so far. Here are a few of our favorite projects we worked on for him in 2018!
Logo – The logo is simple but instantly recognizable. Two colors come together to make the number “2”. The use of duality brings home the branding of 2 in 2Toms. This logo is easily broken down from the full version, pictured here, to a smaller version, which is just the 2. This conversion was really important to us because the 2Toms following started online through organic social media growth so we wanted a logo that could easily be used on Instagram and Facebook, as well as featuring it on the taps and throughout other marketing efforts.
Other Tom Series – A rotating tap series that showcases some famous Toms. These labels pull one iconic element from each of the Tom’s life, for example, Tom Sawyer’s fence and paintbrush. The coloration stays in line with the cool and earthy tones of the logo but brings its own personality to the label. By keeping the label simple, the hops and flavors within the beer can speak for themselves. Another key factor for this series is the note from Tom Carpenter on every label. Used to describe the flavors of the beer, and featuring Tom’s signature at the bottom of the note, these details add a personal element.
Mosaic Haze IPA – The label for 2Toms’s Mosaic Haze combines Eastern and Western flavor profiles in a beautiful mosaic (do you get the name?). This creative is used for their canned lines so the design had to be fluid enough to wrap around the can but distinct enough to be recognizable from straight on. The splash of bright colors mix well with the brand’s normal cool and earthy tones. Drawing the consumer’s eyes, the design elicits a feeling of happiness and having a good time.
Taking into account all of the flavors and making a personality and identity can be challenging at times but when you have a dynamic brand, such as 2Toms, the end result is always rewarding.
