    Combing Digital and Print for a Slam Dunk Campaign

    No one can deny that the importance of online marketing has skyrocketed in the past few years. However, just because the focus has shifted primarily to digital programs, it does not mean that print strategies have become obsolete. In fact, you can combine multiple marketing tactics to create a well-rounded and effective campaign.

    By combining print and digital marketing efforts, your campaigns can go farther than they would by simply choosing one channel alone. For example, if you choose to focus only on digital tactics, you may lose out on valuable opportunities to interact with shoppers in store that may be unfamiliar with your product. By creating printed pieces, you can direct shoppers to your digital platforms, improve engagement, and build trust with shoppers.

    The opposite is also true, where your digital efforts can support your in-store pieces. When you promote programs digitally, shoppers will see your content and recognize the product or program in-store from previous exposure online. Overall, the more familiar a customer becomes with your product and your company, the greater chance there is in converting them into customers.

    For our partners at Tyson Foods, we created a blend of printed and digital strategies for the basketball playoffs. We started by designing a counter card and cling that would be seen in key areas around the deli. These printed pieces added crucial touchpoints to the campaign by reaching consumers while they are actively shopping in store. Next, we designed social media content that coordinated with the printed pieces for a cohesive program. This allowed shoppers to familiarize themselves with the campaign and created a connection with shoppers before even entering a store. By creating both print and social media campaign elements, we helped Tyson Foods connect with more shoppers and stay top of mind.
