Virtual reality was once purely an idea of the future, a prototype, something to only be imagined. Today virtual reality is bringing a new area of our everyday routine to life. Digital advertising. Believe it or not, virtual reality is becoming this generation’s next platform for brand storytelling and consumer connection.

 

What is virtual reality in the context of advertising? Virtual reality (VR) is an innovation in human-computer interaction. Currently VR technology requires a headset display of some sort that immerses users in a 3-D world. As your head moves, the digital display adjusts – more or less tricking the user’s brain into thinking that what they are viewing is real. Thanks to the movement towards light, inexpensive devices and advances in mobile technology, virtual reality finally has the opportunity for mass appeal.

Food trends come and go and change a little bit each year. The list goes on and on: from the obsession with avocados to clean eating. One thing is for certain, healthy eating and the choice to go organic has heated up and this fire appears to be staying a blaze.

 

Big brands have taken notice of the organic craze and jumped on the bandwagon by offering more all-natural and organic options. Grocery chains are getting in on the organic trend as well. Aldi announced in 2016 that they are adding more organic-food brands, removing artificial ingredients from some of their products, and adding more gluten-free options.

Just over ten years ago, what is today known as a “hashtag” was more commonly referred to as a “pound” sign. It wasn’t until August, 2007 that the ‘#’ symbol became a device used in front of a word or words to group the post with other posts about the same topic. The developer and implementer of the hashtag, Chris Messina, came up with the idea to bring people together discussing the same subjects across the Internet. He decided on a hashtag because of its simplicity to use on both mobile and desktop keyboards.

 

Whether you realize it or not, the hashtag truly has transformed the way we market, converse, and do business online. Today hashtags are the key to SEO and content visibility when it comes to social media marketing.
