In the ad agency world, we are really grateful to have awesome partners, many of which we’ve had long-standing relationships with. Some even, for decades – like our friends at Tyson Foods in the Deli division. One of the keys to our partnerships is that we work tirelessly to know their industry. The Austin Food + Wine Festival is a perfect example of our collaboration.
The Austin Food + Wine Festival rocked its seventh year hosting “grill flares and top-shelf pairs.” Check out their IG for some of the amazing offerings, chefs, and spirits. But more than scrumptious food and an endless assortment of adult beverages, we attended for some take-aways in best in class execution at experiential events for consumers.
The VIP Events were flawlessly executed. For an event like this, the more you pay, the more experiences you get and AFWFest did not disappoint. The Grillin’ and Chillin’ experience was the highlight of the weekend. Hosted by Iron Chef Champion Tim Love, it was intimate even with 400+ attendees, prepped and ready to go, engaging, funny, and delicious. Not a thing was forgotten, including all ingredients, cutlery, utensils, plating, aprons, towels, and even head lamps for post-sunset demos.

The festival itself was full of creativity and deliciousness. Again, the execution was on point with (fairly) short lines, unique food creations, every wine and liquor category imaginable, air conditioned bathrooms (yes this matters in the Texas heat!) and really, cool and creative “booths.” There was plenty to see, do, and taste.

The major thing that AFWFest did so well was to truly create an experience. And whether in stores, online, or at an event, that’s really what consumers connect with today and will remember about your brand. While everyone might not focus on food + bev, the importance of the consumer experience can be applied across all products.
