We have two new interns joining the Catalyst Crew: Noah Kilby and Emily Combs. Noah hails from Northrop High School and Emily is across town at Homestead High School. They are both finishing up their high school careers before venturing out into #adultlife, otherwise known as college.

We love partnering with local high school seniors and helping them explore careers that they are considering before they take the leap to declaring their college major. We value their dedication to education and most importantly adding skill sets outside of the classroom.

We sat down with them and here is the 411:

What are some of your favorite classes?

E: English is my favorite. I also enjoyed marketing and economics.

N: Some of my favorite classes are engineering and economics.

What extra-curriculars are you involved in?

E: I played lacrosse the past three years and I also competed in DECA for two years.

N: I am Vice President of our tailgate commitee and I am on the wrestling team.

What’s your favorite kind of pizza?

E: Chicago-style deep dish, and sausage is my favorite topping.

N: My favorite pizza is pepperoni from Pint & Slice.

Have you decided where you are attending school next year? What are you planning on studying?

E: I haven’t decided for sure, but probably IUPUI because I love the location. And I’m going to major in marketing, so I’ll be able to get a Kelley degree there.

N: IU. I plan on studying business and focusing on economics at the Kelley School of Business.

If you were on an island and could only bring three things, what would you bring?

E: My dog, a fishing pole, and I guess my phone.

N: Breakfast food, my phone, and Wi-Fi.

What are your favorite things to do in Fort Wayne?

E: I like shopping and checking out little boutiques. I’m not a much of a spender, though, more of a window shopper.

N: I like swimming and hanging with my friends at Arlington Pool and going to Komets games.

What were your past internships like?

E: I mainly did interactions on social media, especially Instagram. I also created some Twitter content for clients and worked on some organizational stuff as well.

N: My past internship was in the engineering field and it was fun to get a look at what a day looks like as an engineer.

If you could be an animal what would it be? Why?

E: Definitely a sloth, because they’re adorable and they sleep all the time.

N: A honey badger, because they are resilient.

What’s your favorite social media platform and why?

E: Instagram, because that’s where most of my friends are. And I feel like it’s very user friendly.

N: My favorite is Twitter, although I use Instagram the most.

What are some things you are hoping to learn or gain experience in while interning here?

E: I’m hoping to get a broader view of marketing, since my last internship focused on digital marketing. I want to see which parts of marketing most interest me, and how I might want to use my degree after school.

N: I am interested in seeing how people work in all the different roles at the agency, especially Account Management.

We are excited to have them both join us and teach them all about #agencylife, Catalyst style.
