As 2021 has come to an end and we enter a new year, it’s important to touch on some social media trends we can expect to see in 2022. Below are seven trends to watch out for:
- Reels will contribute to the overall Instagram marketing success. No surprise here, reels and short videos continue to stay at the top and are critical for brand success. Check out some of the videos/reels we created for our client, Café Rumba. Also keep in mind that viewers attention span has gotten shorter and shorter so your videos must grab attention right away all while providing value.
- Facebook ads are more effective. In addition, you can expect to see more tracking available.
- Long-form content comes back. If you haven’t already noticed, TikTok and IG reels both started out focusing on 15 second messages. Now, TikTok allows 3 minute videos and reels allows 60 second videos. Although these channels now allow longer-form content, keep in mind you still have to grab your audience’s attention in the first 3 seconds.
- Niche Facebook experiences become major opportunities for marketers. Facebook offers three main areas to help connect with your audience and build more trust. Consider using Facebook groups, live audio rooms or Facebook live in 2022.
- Organic Instagram video builds intimacy and trust. Like previously mentioned, video is THE way to build a faster connection with your audience. It’s more important than ever to start incorporating video in you marketing plans if you want to have a real effect on your business.
- Ecommerce grows on TikTok and Instagram. There are four main areas that marketers should watch for in 2022. First is the rapid increase in livestreaming. Second is the social commerce. More in-app shopping features are to be expected. Third, authenticity and personality continue to be vital for video success and building your community. Lastly, more demand for user-generated content.
- Story video is central to meaningful Instagram engagement. People want to have a conversation with you, not be spoken to. Open a dialogue with potential consumers to build trust and a relation. When they engage with your account, it lets Facebook know that there is a genuine relationship there and as a result that potential consumer will start to see more of your content.
