Apps have become a way of life in 2018. That being said, there are thousands of apps out there to choose from – so which ones are worth the download? We’ve sifted through the app store to bring you our top 5 must-have apps of 2018!
1. Sweat Deck (free; iOS only)
Summer is a great time to get outside and get your body moving, but have you ever felt a little stuck in a routine? Sweat Deck’s solution is to give you a shuffled deck of workout cards so your workout is different every day. This customizable interface allows you to add and subtract types of activities and the intensity desired. You can download Sweat Deck here.
2. Kitchen Stories (free; Android and iOS)

There are lots of apps that provide recipes but none are quite like Kitchen Stories. This app not only allows you to search and store recipes but provides how-to videos from their staff as well as other users on their experience making dishes. There are also topics of the day, similar to Snapchat’s story feature. You can download Kitchen Stories on Android here or for iOS here.
3. Oak – Meditation and Breathing (free; iOS only)

Maybe you’re looking to better yourself in a more relaxed way this summer. Unlike most guided meditation apps, Oak is completely free and even tracks your progress. Guided meditation and breathing can be an excellent way to unwind at the end of a long day or a tool to help ease anxiety. You can download Oak here.
4. Songkick (free; Android and iOS)

Concerts are a quintessential summer activity but it’s a bummer to find out that one of your favorite bands was in town and you had no idea. Songkick is your solution to that problem. This app scans your music apps for artists that you listen to and notifies you when a band or artist is coming to one of your chosen towns/venues. The artist and venue lists are completely customizable for your ever-changing music tastes. Download Songkick for Android here and on iOS here.
5. PackPoint (2.99; Android and iOS)

This inventive app takes the thinking out of packing! Simply put where you are visiting, for how long, and what you plan to do while there and it will tell you the clothing you should bring based on the current weather forecast. Edit everything from your carry on to custom items. Traveling with a group? You can share your findings with other travelers, even if they don’t have the app. Download PackPoint for Android here or on iOS here.
