The idea of live streaming was brought to life many years ago. Today, video continues to be a driving force, and social media users spend more time watching video than ever before.
Now you can pretty much “go live” on any social media outlet. Facebook introduced Facebook Live earlier this year and made it possible for all of its users to broadcast videos of (almost) anything to a huge audience. This trend has taken the liking of news personalities, marketers, and even your mom. That’s right, everybody is going live.
Facebook is a strong platform focus of most social media campaigns. Whether it is driving traffic to your site, app downloads, or gaining impressions, Facebook seems to be a continual go-to for marketers. With Facebook Live, marketers can generate original content for their campaigns and reach thousands, even millions, with a simple click and share.
Studies show that business owners are seeing the return on using video as a marketing tool. A total of 76 percent of those who have used video in the past 12 months report a direct business impact, and more than 60 percent plan to increase their investments in video next year. That means video is here to stay. Here are a few ways to make the most of video marketing:
Stay on top of the trends. Like all features released on Facebook, they are constantly changing. This is no different for Facebook Live. To make the most of your video, and appear savvy to your audience, make sure you are posting videos up to speed with the technology out there.
Keep it short and sweet. Yes, we are more likely to watch a video, but not if it is several minutes long. Stats show you will lose half of your viewers after the first minute. Get your message across in the first 10 seconds and hook your audience.
Content is still king. “Content is king” is preached everywhere, mostly because it’s true. Make sure whatever you are streaming is aligned with your campaign goals.
