    Social media is usually a big part of current digital campaigns. 92% of small business owners who use social media agree social media marketing is important for their business. There are many different routes you can take with reaching your audience, with the average social media user maintaining five accounts, and all routes can lead to ROI.

     

    First things first, what do you want to achieve? There are several goals you can apply to social media. Do you want new followers? Clicks to your website? Sign ups for email? Establishing your goal will help you choose a platform and help you decide how to best reach your audience.

     

    The next step is tracking. In the agency world, being able to show a client the numbers is crucial. By measuring and looking at the different stats you can better alter your social media plan. Google Analytics is a great way to track specific site goals. All social media platforms have developed analytic managers to track the success of your campaigns. The advancements to measurement tools continue to increase, making it even more critical to track everything.

     

    Lastly, consider how much you are willing to spend on your social investment. Campaigns have a variety of budgets to work with, but all should result in reaching goals. There are times when a campaign may be slacking and checking up on analytics is key. If your goal is to gain a new “like” or sign up for $.15 and it shoots up to $.30 per conversion, you know something needs to be tweaked.
