    As the new year commences, it is time for businesses to start strategizing their marketing towards the “big football game” coming up. Below are tips and examples on how to do just that!

    Create Mobile Engagement

    We are so used to the football game of the year being a huge TV moment, but few people are watching the game without a phone in their hand. In fact, 88% of viewers use a second device while watching TV, according to data from Nielsen. Use this to your marketing advantage by boosting your targeted posts for this audience. Plus, advertising on social media helps you optimize and measure your campaign performance and effectiveness. This helps you tweak your campaign and anticipate/react to viewer preferences in near real-time, unlike television marketing.

    Sweepstakes/Contests

    Consumers love a healthy competition, so introducing sweepstakes and/or contests in your marketing during this season is important. We partnered with Tyson Deli to create a Boneless Wings Kickoff Contest & a sweepstakes competition for a free entertainment center. Marketing your products with some type of reward is always more appealing to the consumer. You will see a dramatic increase in engagement, following & purchases following this type of marketing. Below are examples of our partnership with Tyson Deli.

    In the photo above you can see that partnering up with another company when marketing is also very beneficial. Marketing to not only your consumers but the company you partnered with consumers as well is amazing for business! Tyson teamed up with Lipton Tea for this sweepstakes. We aided in creating multiple coupons, in-store marketing materials, & online marketing materials for this offer.

    QR Codes

    QR codes have made a big comeback in the last couple of years and has been a game changer for businesses. As the attention span shortens with marketing promotions, the QR code can really come in handy for all types of businesses.

    The QR code can quickly:

    • Direct your customers to your website, blog, or social media channels
    • Make it easy for customers to use codes for discounts or promotions you have going on
    • Send your customers straight to the app store to download your app
    • Generate a unique discount code for each customer who scans your code

    Hashtags

    Hashtags are a way of searching for what you want to see on social media. Monitoring trending hashtags and using them weeks leading up to “the big game” are key to surfacing in feeds and get the conversation started. Have you ever wondered why big brands start advertising a week early before the event? Incorporating hashtags to monitor how the conversation is taking shape on social platforms, and then applying more specific ads as the event gets closer is very important. Using hashtags ultimately keeps you in the trending posts and helps increase engagement & conversations.
