    New Year, New Gear

2016 was a big year for the Catalyst crew. We saw new faces join our team. We said goodbye to our home of 15 years, and moved into a beautiful, new creative space. We saw success and spent a few afternoons playing shuffleboard and corn hole to recharge our creativity.

We are jumping into 2017 with a set of new goals, not only in the workplace but personally. While statistics tell us that 80% of New Year resolutions fail, the Catalyst team is confident we’re the other 20!

Roughly 34% of Americans’ 2017 resolutions were to lose weight, eat healthier, and self-improve. This seemed pretty on point for most of our gang:

“Less: carbs and reasons to live. More: vegetables and abysmal boredom.” – Sam

“I am starting a healthy regime to drop 15 lbs. I am doing a 60-day plank challenge with 31 people. Pray for me.” – Connie

“Eat clean! No gluten, low dairy, and more organic.” – Jeff

“Be more active and productive. Eat more whole foods, less processed!” – Kim

“I am starting each day with a daily devotional reading, instead of just reading it sporadically. It sets the tone for me to start my day with God and be a calmer, more grace-giving person.” – Molly

“Make sure I always show those close to me how much I care about them. You never know what tomorrow brings so I plan to make a conscious effort to hug my children more and show my love to all my family and friends.” – Christy

“I’m hoping 2017 allows me some time to step away from the screen and more time getting my creativity flowing. Maybe I’ll break out my new chalk pastels.” – Amanda

“Read more books. Travel to five new cities. Dedicate time to learn how to knit like my knitting-master grandma.” – Tessa

“This year restarts my motto of focusing on important stuff. More experiences, less ‘stuff.’“ – Ted

Here are some tips to make your resolutions and keep them!

    • Make your goal specific, and realistic. The more specific, the more you will stay on track!
    • The less the better. Try to limit yourself to one resolution to focus on rather than several.
    • Keep the goal in sight. Make small steps and remember it’s your resolution for the year. Don’t worry if you don’t achieve it by the end of January.
    • DON’T GIVE UP!

We at Catalyst have a new motto for 2017:

“New Year, New Gear.” Meaning we will be making an even larger commitment to community and each other.

    Happy New Year!
