    In October of 2000, Google created a self-service advertising program to change the way businesses advertise online. This idea and platform became what we now know as Google Adwords. This is an advertising system that marketers can use to promote their websites and place banner ads on thousands of other sites. Because Google is the world’s leading search engine, many companies are working hard to improve their organic search results position.

     

    We partnered with ProFed Credit Union to build a search engine marketing campaign with the Google platform. Our goal was to educate current and potential new members about the products and services that ProFed offers. We utilized the search and display ad capabilities that Google provides along with implementing our own targeting, optimization and keyword strategy.

     

    The campaign saw over 1.3 million impressions and 18K clicks from display ads along with 72K impressions and 7K clicks with search. With the click through rate industry benchmarks sitting at 2.65% for search and 0.33% for display, we were thrilled to see our results outpace them with our search and display CTR reaching 9.78% and 1.38% respectively!
