I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase “never judge a book by its cover.” Well, when it comes to your packaging for your company/brand, the design plays a crucial part. We helped our clients at Tyson Foods design a unique and fun prize box for their internal video game themed sales program. Below we will look at a few ways we helped their vision come to life.
First and foremost, you want to focus on the basic function of the package. For this project, we needed a fun way to safely ship a prize in a game themed package. The sturdy black box we used protected the contents during delivery and allowed the neon colors to really pop against the dark background, adding a fun and playful energy into the competition. We also added in familiar characters and video game elements to coordinate with the overall game theme and retro feel.
Next, we needed to keep the package and prizes safe during shipping. Our solution was to pad the package with arcade tickets to keep everything safe while also creating a fun surprise when the box was opened. Once the filler is removed, you get a glimpse of the game themed neon lights lining the walls and bank of arcade games popping off the back.

Finally, we needed to incorporate the actual prize for the winners. For this, we designed a retro drink cup and filled it with the grand prize and arcade coins. This offered a unique way to disguise the prize and keep it consistent with the overall design.
