Facebook is going through some major changes with the new algorithm. In a recent blog, we explained what the biggest changes will be and how it will affect brands moving forward. The new algorithm will take effect in the coming months and brands will need to make changes to their strategy to stay relevant on Facebook.
Create Content That Sparks Conversation
Because the change to Facebook will show more content from the people users are connected to, creating posts that encourage conversation will allow for brands to stay in the news feeds of their target market. This can include asking your follower’s opinions and experiences while implementing more user-generated content.
Target More Users Locally
Facebook announced that it would also be making changes to allow for more content from the user’s surrounding area to be shown. Facebook wrote, “Today, we’re updating News Feeds to also prioritize local news so that you can see topics that have a direct impact on you and your community.” Engaging users in your surrounding areas will help to keep your content in their news feeds.
Encourage More Users To Follow Your Page
Because Facebook is changing the News Feed to decrease business content that users aren’t following, encourage users to follow your page so they can continue to get your content updates. This will allow for branded content to still be shown by the request of the user. Users will also be able to see more of your content if they have interacted with you before.
